Jake's Cowboy Steaks
A bold and flavorful steak rub combining coffee, sugar, and salt for a perfect outdoor grilling experience.

Ingredients
- 1 ½ inch prime ribeye steaks (4)
- 1/3 c. good ground coffee beans
- 1/3 c. sugar in the raw
- 1/3 c. kosher salt
Preparation
- 1.Remove steaks from fridge an hour before cooking. Unwrap lightly covered with saran wrap.
- 2.Combine dry rub ingredients.
- 3.Cover steaks with a light coat of olive oil by hand.
- 4.Apply rub to steaks on both sides generously about 30 minutes prior to cooking.
- 5.Heat grill 10 minutes prior to cooking. Know your grill!
- 6.Grill 4-5 minutes per side for medium rare.
- 7.Sugar will caramelize, and the coffee and salt do the rest.
- 8.Let rest 10 minutes and serve.
